The big rental platforms bring visibility, and you don't necessarily have to leave them. But every booking there goes through a middleman, with its commission and its rules.
What your own site changes
- Past guests come back to you, with no commission on their next stay.
- You present your property your way, with your photos and your words.
- You keep in touch with your guests.
- You choose your terms: payment, length of stay, availability.
What it won't do on its own
A website won't replace a platform's visibility overnight. It adds to your presence: give guests the address, put it on your cards and your Google profile. It becomes more valuable as guests return.
What you need to start well
Good photos, a calendar that's always up to date, clear rates and an automatic confirmation. If you also rent through a platform, keep your availability up to date on both sides to avoid a double booking.
Not only for private owners
An association can also keep its properties for its members: that's what the Association d'Entraide des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Nice does.
